There are some 850 prosecutors at 38 public prosecution offices all over the country.

Approximately 80 prosecutors are also employed at the Economic Crimes Bureau. Most prosecutors are concerned with all types of crime, but there are also a number of specialists and prosecutors are given every opportunity to choose their own direction and gradually develop in their profession. The judicial system follows developments in society, and new specialist areas are constantly being established.

Within the Swedish Prosecution Authority there are also some 400 administrative staff, who support the prosecutors with, for instance, case registration. At the Office of the Prosecutor-General in Stockholm there are also various specialist functions for economy, statistics, communication, etc.

The prosecution service also has an extensive training programme for all employees.
