Recruitment of administrative personnel

Other professional groups apart from prosecutors also work for the Swedish Prosecution Authority.

In addition to prosecutors, prosecution secretaries and senior administrative officers also work at public prosecution offices. A considerable proportion of the administrative work consists of case handling, or in other words registering and coding the cases that the prosecutors are working on. There are advanced computer programs for this purpose.

Senior administrative officers direct the administrative work of the public prosecution offices and are part of the office management.
At the Office of the Prosecutor-General, a number of different professions and functions are represented. The central support units, i.e. personnel, communication, economy, planning, training and IT, are located at the Office of the Prosecutor-General in Stockholm.

How do I apply?

You can apply for a job at the Swedish Prosecution Authority via the ”vacant posts” link on our home page.

By filling in all your personal particulars, the information is stored in our recruitment system. This means that your application can be seen by the personnel unit at the Swedish Prosecution Authority as well as by all the heads of public prosecution offices and prosecution development centres.

You need a user name and a password in order to search via the link. You can generate these when you use the page for the first time. Then you can keep your page up to date and apply for new jobs that are declared vacant without having to fill in all your information again.

You can scan in your qualification documents and references, although it is not necessary. We would prefer you not to submit hard copies of certificates or other documents. If you are unable to apply for a job via our website you can of course always submit your application by post.

How does the recruitment process work?

Recruitment process for administrative staff

After you have applied for a certain post, an initial selection is made of who should be called for an interview. The interviews are generally conducted at a public prosecution office under the direction of the office manager.

After the interviews, the Prosecution Authority takes references and decides on who is to be appointed.
