Recruitment of prosecutors

How do I apply for a job?

You apply for a job at the Swedish Prosecution Authority via the ”Job application” link on our home page.

By filling in all your personal particulars, the information is stored in our recruitment system. This means that your application can be seen by the personnel unit at the Swedish Prosecution Authority as well as by all the heads of public prosecution offices and prosecution development centres.

You need a user name and a password in order to search via the link. You can generate these when you use the page for the first time. Then you can keep your page up to date and apply for new jobs that are declared vacant without having to fill in all your information again.

You can scan in your qualification documents and references, although it is not necessary. We would prefer you not to submit hard copies of certificates or other documents. If you are unable to apply for a job via our website you can, of course, always submit your application by post.

How does the recruitment process work?

Recruitment process for trainee prosecutors

Once you have applied for a post as a trainee prosecutor, an initial selection is made among individuals who will be called to attend a first interview. The interviews are generally held at a public prosecution office under the direction of the office manager.

If you progress further in the recruitment process after the first interview, you are called to take a work psychology test. These tests are conducted under the direction of a qualified psychologist. Everyone who takes the test will receive feedback on their results from the psychologist.

On completion of the tests, an in-depth interview will be held in which the psychologist, prosecution office manager and a human resources specialist will participate.

After the in-depth interview, the Prosecution Authority will take references before a decision is taken on who is to be employed.
