Crime and statistics

The Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brottsförebyggande rådet - Brå) - an agency under the Ministry of Justice - is a centre for research and development within the judicial system.

The Council also produces Sweden's official crime statistics, evaluates reforms, conducts research to develop new knowledge and provides support to local crime prevention work.

To get more information about Sweden´s official crime statistics please visit the website for The Swedish National Council för Crime Prevention.

The statistics unit within our own organisation may also be able to answer some questions about statistics for the Swedish Prosecution Authority. Please contact our Head Office.
