Method and judicial development

In three locations in Sweden – Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö – the Swedish Prosecution Authority has Prosecution Development Centres.

Their task is to conduct method and judicial development within different areas of crime and have at their disposal the collected knowledge in their respective areas of responsibility.

The Prosecution Development Centres work with method development, knowledge creation and collaborations within other authorities within their areas of operation.

One of the main tasks for the Prosecution Development Centres is to identify matters of great importance for the daily prosecution work. The Prosecution Development Centres can also disseminate knowledge, analyse the judicial situation, develop guidelines and make sure that cases are brought to the Supreme Court.

Judicial follow-up and supervision is also conducted here. One example is that all reviews of prosecutor decisions are administered by the development centres.
