Invitation to a press conference regarding preparation for a terrorist offence
On Thursday, November 6, the prosecutors intend to indict an 18-year-old man for preparation for terrorist crimes in central Stockholm. The prosecutors also intend to indict the 18-year-old together with a 17-year-old man for an attempted murder in Germany in August 2024. The media is invited to a press conference on Thursday.
According to the prosecutors, the preparation for terrorist crimes in Stockholm took place between August 2024 and February 2025.
“We believe the purpose of the preparations was to induce serious fear in the population, in the name of the Islamic State. The criminal act could have seriously harmed Sweden,” Deputy Chief Prosecutor Henrik Olin says.
The 18-year-old is also suspected of preparation for serious crimes under the act on flammable and explosive goods and training for terrorism, gross crime. Both individuals are also suspected of participation in a terrorist organisation, gross crime.
The investigation has been conducted by the Swedish Security Service under the direction of prosecutors at the National Security Unit.

The press conference will be held in Swedish. Following the press conference the prosecutors will be available for individual interviews in Swedish and English.
